Strategies for Evaluating Instructional Costs: A Major-Level Approach Join AIRUM members at noon on Tuesday, February 25, for a free webinar on the topic Strategies for Evaluating Instructional Costs: A Major-Level Approach featuring Casey Rozowski, Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Budget challenges in higher education necessitate a deeper understanding of the instructional costs associated with different academic programs. This approach aims to identify and analyze the instructional costs per major, providing insights into the financial demands of various academic disciplines. Student data and faculty data from the same period was also analyzed to calculate the per-student cost of instruction for each course and estimating the instructional cost per major. This approach allowed UW- Eau Claire to identify significant cost drivers, such as average class size and faculty workload.
